First Steps To Raising A Multilingual
Raising our children multilingually gives them so much more than just the ability to speak multiple languages. Research shows that bilingual and multilingual children are more able to connect with different cultures and people with different worldviews to themselves. They also generally have better cognitive flexibility, meaning things like multitasking, problem solving and creativity come more easily to multilinguals. Supporting our children to develop multiple languages also provides an amazing opportunity for them to connect to cultures and communities that are important to your family.

As a parent, this potential is both exciting and daunting all at once and the reality of a multilingual household can feel messy. If you can’t figure out the best way to approach the challenge, find the whole topic confusing or feel like you are not able to stick to your plan and it feels like a mess, you’re not alone.
