Our Approach
Scientific Evidence, Rooted in Everyday Practice
Research has shown that pregnancy and the early years of a child’s life are uniquely important in terms of their brain development. The experiences a child has during this time will shape the architecture of their brain and build the connections that allow them to develop lifelong skills like problem-solving, communication, self-control, and relationship building.
One of the most significant environmental factors that influences brain development is the quality of early relationships.
A baby or child’s opportunity to develop a secure relationship or attachment with key carers has been shown to be linked to long-term emotional well-being. This all gives rise to an incredible opportunity and responsibility for us as parents and carers, as we have a critical role in shaping our children’s developing brains and helping to lay down infrastructure that will provide solid foundations for later functioning.
Our approach is rooted in the science of brain development and attachment theory. As well as equipping you with knowledge about how you can develop secure relationships with your child and promote their brain development, these evidence bases form the foundation for our parenting strategies and advice.

How We Will Work Together
We believe that every parent, child, and family is unique and that there is not a one size fits all formula to parenting. Whether we are working one-on-one, or you are attending a seminar, group class or baby group we will always work to understand you and your child uniquely. We will work in partnership to develop plans and strategies that take into account these unique qualities and challenges. Our aim is to empower you on your individual parenting journey and to help you find solutions that work for you and your family.
Our approach is based on empathy, respect, understanding and connection and will aim to foster these in the relationships within your family.
We will help you to strike the balance between being kind and gentle in your parenting, but to also parent with boundaries so as not to become permissive. Our approach understands that parenting is a dynamic journey and supports you to parent in step with your children and with each other.
